Turning Of The Tide, came together 11 years ago with the aim to write and perform original songs in a folk rock format. Beginning as a 3 piece and over time expanding to 6, changes took place, people came, people left. Now as a 4 piece comprising 2 of the original line up in Phil Thomson, mandolin, guitar, vocals and songs; Rob Bacon, guitar, percussion and songs; joined in 2018 by Micky McNulty, Bodhran, cajon and in 2022 Jim Bonnor, violin, the band is stronger than ever, focussing on thought provoking, sometimes topical lyrics and a strong emphasis on rhythm and melody to create a unique sound with songs of love, existential themes and intense passion. This body of work comprises of songs mainly written by Phil and drawn from almost 40 years of writing and performing.
