Gordon Pocket is a musical comedy folk songsmith from Sheffield. Old people often compare him to Jake Thackray, Sheffielders to John Shuttleworth and festival goers to cult hero, Captain Hotknives. It is not known if any of those comparisons are favourable. He has a long history of tickling Sheffield’s cultural extremities as DJ and promoter for the Balkan-club-night-knees-up, Na Zdrove! (2007-2013), double bass player and songwriter for the klezmer cabaret troubadours, the Balkan Bandits (2008-2022) and impresario for the premier lack of talent contest, The Greatest Yorkshire Show-Off (2016-2023).
